Born and raised in the Detroit area, Mary graduated from Cousino High School in 1974. She continued her education at Macomb Community College, earning an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education.
Mary was one of the lucky few who truly loved her work, dedicating over 30 years to nurturing and caring for hundreds of children. She founded her own childcare center, Kid’s Junction, to provide the best care and education for growing minds. In recent years, “Ms. Mary” could be found teaching preschool at the Troy Community Center. Mary leaves a profound impact as her legacy continues to live on in the minds of all those she taught over the years.
Beyond childhood education, Mary had a zest for life - she could strike up a conversation with just about anyone, instantly making a new friend. She loved her friends both old and new dearly. Mary enjoyed traveling with her beloved husband Joseph - whether it was a cruise to the Caribbean, an RV trip cross-country, or a quick visit to a casino she enjoyed each adventure they shared.
Mary loved her family so much, she cherished every moment spent with them. She was such a proud, loving, and fun Grandmother – she always had multiple recent pictures of the grandchildren on her phone to show to others. Nothing made Mary happier than spending time with her grandchildren. She was also an animal lover having multiple dogs over the years, most recently Bailey & Brittany.
Mary leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and compassion, forever etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
Mary was the beloved wife of the late Joseph H. Myers, Jr. Loving mother of Joseph (Kelly) and Bradley (Diane). Adored grandmother of Ryan, Natalie, Claire, Connor, and Lucas. Dear sister of Jackie (Bob) Marchel and Rick (Kim Sabo) Rule. Cherished aunt of Danielle, Jennifer, Jillian, Heather, Jessica, and Jamie. Loving friend of Bob Stankich.
Visitation for Mary will be held on Saturday, September 30th from 5-9pm with a 7:30pm Funeral Service at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common Road (12 1/2 Mile) in Warren, MI.
