Michael Francis Gensor

Michael Francis Gensor, age 70 of Washington Township, died at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital on August 4, 2021. He was born on October 5, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan to his late parents, Frank and Anne (nee Krisak) Gensor.

Michael attended Holy Name and St. Anthony Catholic High School in Detroit. He then went on to earn his Bachelor's degree in education from Eastern Michigan University. Michael worked in the educational system for a few years before moving on to his career as an insurance agent. Before retiring, Michael moved quite a bit for his job; living in Daly City, CA, Palm Desert, CA, and eventually Cleveland, OH. He was also an avid sports fan, which he enjoyed watching hockey and baseball the most. Michael will be missed and loved eternally by his family and friends.

Michael was the loving brother of David Gensor, Mary Therese (Michael) Chopp, Suzanna Gensor, and Renee Gensor. Dear uncle of Michael Chopp, Ann Frances, Peter (Jocelyn) Chopp, and Elizabeth (Rob) Weir. Also survived by great nieces and nephews.

Michael will lie in state Monday, August 9th at 10:30am until the time of his Funeral Mass at 11am at SS John & Paul Catholic Church, 7777 28 Mile Road, Washington, MI 48094. Inurnment for Michael will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit at a later date.
