Michael P. Manza, Jr., age 53, died Monday April 18, 2011 at his home in Warren, Michigan. Michael was born on March 6, 1958 in Detroit to Michael Manza, Sr., and the late Florence (nee: Shelton) Manza. Employed since 1980 in the world of skilled trades, Michael was adept and experienced in the field of plumbing and pipe fitting. He was a Journeyman Plumber and proud member of Plumbers' Union Local #98. Michael was a devout employee, always arriving on time and never missing a day of scheduled work. As a young man, Michael developed his athletic abilities and prowess which stemmed from his love of gymnastics. This served him well throughout his professional life as a plumber, and was sought after by his Union to work on large commercial construction projects. Michael was especially proud of his involvement in the construction of Detroit's new Ford Field. Michael was also an artisan. He expressed his talents through one of his favorite hobbies, the building of WWII model planes and tanks. To Michael, it was more than merely putting the pieces together. From the decals, to the artistic painting, and all of the intricacies in between,...the finished product was always a reflection of the detail-oriented nature he possessed. Michael loved artistic beauty. In the mountains of Colorado, he found his Utopia. The unique splendor of Colorado just couldn't be beat in Michael's eyes. After graduating from Warren Woods High School, Michael spent the next four years working, hiking, camping and skiing in the Rocky Mountains. He especially enjoyed the concerts at Red Rocks. Michael was a proud man; a sensitive soul with a generous heart. He will truly be missed. Michael Manza, Jr., was the beloved son of Michael, Sr., and the late Florence Manza. He was the loving brother of Danna Spivey, Teresa Jones Reinhardt, Mark Manza, Judith Jones Shelton, and the late Lee Thomas Jones. Michael was also a beloved uncle to Valarie Jones Kulp, Steven Jones, Teresa Jones Price, and Jennifer Thomas. A Memorial Service for Michael will be held in Littleton, Colorado. The date and times are yet to be determined, and will be announced on this site upon their scheduling. All are welcome. Arrangements were entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. Please share memories of Michael at his guest book.
