Paul Michael Lisecki, age 70 of Sterling Heights, died Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at his home. Paul was born August 18, 1937 in Hamtramck, Michigan the son of the late Max Lisecki and the late Beatrice (nee: Danielewicz) Lisecki. He is survived by his loving wife MaryAnn. Paul is also the loving father of Michael, Rachael (Billy), and Angela (Kevin) Kulick. Cherished grandfather to Michael, Jeremy, Paul and Courtney. Dear brother of Marlene Taube, Carol (Gerald) Shultz and Ilene (Jack) Freeman, and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Mr. Lisecki was raised in Hamtramck and attended Hamtramck High School before joining the military. After his military service Paul worked for many years as a carpet installer for J.L. Hudson Company. Mr. Lisecki worked for J.L. Hudson since he was 17 years old started as a stock boy then became a carpet installer. In the late 60's he started his own carpeting business that was called Carpets by MaryAnn, which he did after he came home everyday from working at J.L. Hudson's. After a hard day of work he would go out every evening and sell carpet or people would come to Pauls home to purchase carpet. He would go out and measure the jobs then install the carpet on the weekends. Paul worked hard every day of the week. Paul was know for his hearty laugh. He was always a very happy, easy going, good hearted person. He loved to tell jokes, plus goof around to make other people laugh with him. He also loved sports, as a child he was very athletic and involved with all sports; achieving of trophies and accolades from baseball, golf and bowling. Bowling was one of Pauls favorite things to do. He was on 2-3 leagues every season. In addition to bowling Paul also liked to go to bingo once or 2 times a week. Another passion Paul had was dancing. He would dance every single song to the last song played at weddings and parties. He had some great dance moves which everyone enjoyed to watch. He was definitely the life of the party. Every year around spring time he looked forward to planning a 50's party at the Polish Century Club. He loved having that party because he was surrounded by his family & friends and would dance the night away. Then that last song of the night he would sing along on the microphone, Good Night Sweetheart Goodnight. For many years Paul organized and ran a golf league on Mondays at Maple Lane. Then at the end of the golf season he would have a golf outing in September dedicated to his long-time friend George which he worked hard on all year to get prizes and donations. Paul also loved gambling his entire life. He enjoyed going on the bus trips to all the different casinos with his wife and friends that the Polish Club would organize every few months. Also he looked forward to Sundays for years because Rachael, Billy and MaryAnn would take him to MGM Casino, where he would play his Blazing 7 machines. The last day he was at MGM was January 27th which he finally hit the Blazzing 7's for $1500.00. For many years Paul loved to play Santa Claus at the annual Polish Century Club's Christmas Party. Paul was the perfect Santa because of this round belly and jolly laugh, all the kids loved him. All year he would play the Claw Machine to win toys so he could donate them to the club to pass out to the children. Paul loved to dress nice, he was always the best dressed where ever he went. He loved his flashy suits; big gold jewelry, and his hair would be combed perfectly and would be ready to dance all night. His cars were also a passion for him, they had to be a new Cadillacs or a Lincolns which also had to be spotless at all times. Pauls family always came first; he never missed one of the grandchildrens basketball, baseball, or football games. And he loved to travel with his family and friends. He has been to Las Vegas, on cruises, Hawaii, Aruba, and many other places. Anyone that knows Paul knows, he was full of life and lived life to the fullest. So it was painful for him and his family to see all these things taken away from him due to the horrible disease ALS. He was diagnosed with this disease on October 24, 2006. Since then he did what the doctors said and was so strong. He never gave up hope and never complained at all, despite every day his body was degenerating. MaryAnn took wonderful care of her husband to the end. She never complained, never left his side and always tried to make him happy and comfortable as she could. MaryAnn was a wonderful wife to Paul. Paul will be missed but will stay in our hearts forever. Visitation for Mr. Lisecki will be Sunday from 2-9 pm with a 7:00 pm scripture service at the D.S.
