Randall Lewis Dockery

Randall Lewis Dockery, age 68, died Saturday, May 30, 2015 at his home in Warren, Michigan surrounded by his loving family. Randall was born November 4, 1946 in Copperhill, Tennessee, son of the late Herbert Dockery Jr. and the late Erma Sue (nee: O'Neal) Dockery.In his early years, Randall and his family resided in the state of Georgia. They eventually headed north and made their new home in Detroit where Randall attended high school, and later trade school. Following his education, he went to work for the Chrysler Motors Corporation. After many years of loyal and dedicated service, he took his well-deserved retirement as an employee at the Warren Truck Assembly Plant on Mound Road. When Randall was not working, he could often be found tinkering around the house or yard, and also wrenching on cars. He loved cars, no matter the make or model, and could fix just about any one of them. And not merely with cars, Randall was a true "Mr. Fix-It" and could exact his repair skills on just about anything. Mr. Dockery also enjoyed tending to his garden which provided him countless hours of pleasure as he was able to see true and real results from the TLC he poured into its growth.However, his greatest joy and solace was to be at home surrounded by his family,...especially his precious and treasured grandchildren of which his quiver was quite full. He was truly the family patriarch, and great provider for them all. A loving husband, father and grandfather, Randall leaves a storehouse of wonderful memories for all to embrace who were blessed to know him,...a plethora of whom came from the large & loving family that surrounded him. He will be missed immensely and loved eternally.Randall Dockery was the beloved husband of Carol, his bride of 50 years, and the dear father of Richard (Dawn) Dockery, Cheryl (Jack) Sims, Jennifer (Robert) Ritter, Brian (Kristie) Dockery, Katherine Dockery, the late Heath Dockery, and the late Kyle Dockery. He was the Father in-law of Cheryl Dockery, Jessica Dockery, and brother of Rodney Dockery, LeeRoy (June) Dockery, Sandra Legare, David Dockery, Gina Dockery, and the late Raymond Dockery. Mr. Dockery is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. Dockery will be held Wednesday, June 3rd from 3-9pm, with a 7pm Eulogy Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd. at Common (12 1/2 mile) in Warren. Please share memories of Randall at his memory book above.
