

Ray Amos McCraw, age 88 of Warren, died Monday, February 10, 2020 surrounded by his loving family at his home in Warren, Michigan. Ray was born April 22, 1931 in Searles, Alabama, son of the late Austin and Rushia (nee: Stanley) McCraw.
Ray was the loving husband of Helen (nee: Ooten). Dear father of Gary (Janet) McCraw and Karen (Steven) Boyd. Adored grandfather of Sarah McCraw, and Kristopher & Kristin Boyd. He was preceded in death by siblings Pelham, Palmer, Preston, Edna, Denson, Dewey, Faye, and Rayford.
Ray worked as a master mechanic for Chevrolet Gear and Axel in Detroit for 38 years until his retirement in 1991. As a devout Christian, Ray served as a member of the Fellowship General Baptist Church in Warren for over 30 years. In his leisure time, Ray loved fishing and traveling all over in his motor home with his wife of 63 years, Helen. One of his favorite vacation travel destinations was to the sunny state of Florida. Most of all, Ray enjoyed spending time with his loving family who will miss him dearly.
Visitation for Ray will be held Thursday, February 13th from 3-8 pm at the D.S. Temrowski Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren. He will lie in state Friday from 9:00 am until the time of his Funeral Service at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor James Bostic officiating. Interment will take place at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are appreciated to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, the American Heart Association, the American Lung Association, or the American Diabetes Association.
