Rebecca Lynn Clouse, age 67 of Center Line, died Monday, October 19, 2020 at the Select Specialty Hospital – Nursing Home in Detroit, Michigan. She was born July 14, 1953 in Highland Park, daughter of the late Ralph Stanley and the late Marjorie Ruth (nee: Miller) Clouse.
For some people, the list can be long and inclusive of the favorite hobbies and pastimes that embodied the life they lived. But for others, the list can be short & sweet, yet rife with the most meaningful of life’s blessings,…as was the case with Rebecca. To be sure, she definitely had some wonderful memories of the fun things that filled her “me time” in life. But if given the chance to ask her just what she enjoyed doing the most, there’s no mistaking,…her greatest joys in life were those wrapped by the warmth of Faith & Family. Making memories with her loved ones and sharing their company reigned supreme for Rebecca, especially when those moments included her nieces and nephews. Not having children of her own, her Father in Heaven was well aware of the love He had instilled in her and so gave her the vessels in which to pour out that love,…of which she did often and mightily.
With a career as a waitress, some may reflect on her job as being the perfect fit for her vivacious personality and cheerful aura. It’s been said, “when you’re eating, you’re happy,”…and Rebecca brought her own brand of sunshine to every table, along with their food. Her customers couldn’t have had a more delightful server, which we all know makes all the difference in your dining experience.
And speaking of getting fed,…Rebecca loved going to church and being nourished by the teachings and fellowship of the saints. She and God shared a special and meaningful relationship, one that kept her grounded and plugged in to the true “source of power.” The Bible says, “wherever two or more are gathered, there I am in the midst,”…and Rebecca loved gathering with family and friends every chance she was given.
Rebecca may have been a Michigander, but her heart was truly in the tropics. She loved the sun and hot weather, and could have easily transitioned to the life of a beachcomber. None of this winter jackets and shoveling snow crap,…she would have been perfectly content lying in a hammock attached to a palm tree with a tropical breeze accompanying an 85 degree day. Are you picturing it? Can you hear the ukulele playing? Something tells me,…she did quite often.
A loving daughter, sister, aunt & friend, Rebecca touched a multitude of hearts and souls in her journey this side of Heaven. Though she leaves us far too soon, it is certainly not without imparting the best of herself into each person whose path she encountered. God filled her with love and compassion which she gave freely and unselfishly. She was a saint amongst women and truly left her mark in a most beautiful way. She may be with God now, but you can bet that He isn’t done using her to touch hearts down here,…just in a different way. We’ll call her our Guardian Angel. Even still,…she will be missed beyond expression and loved beyond measure.
Rebecca was the beloved sister of David Clouse, Gail Darlene (the late Bill) Moreland, Timothy (Jacqueline) Clouse, and Jennifer (Matthew) Burke. She was the loving aunt of Tyler (Chelsea), Charley, Larry (Jamie), Josephine, Joy, Mary, Nicholas, Zachary, Ava, Isabella, Sarah,…and great-aunt of Jackson, Madison, Dakota, Bryce,…with 1 on the way.
A Memorial Visitation for Rebecca will be held Sunday, October 25th from 2-9 pm, with a 7pm Memorial Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren.
Memorial donations are welcomed to the family.
