

Richard Henry Abramski, age 90 of Warren, died Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Cambridge Healthcare Facility in Madison Heights, Michigan. Richard was born November 28, 1924 in Detroit, son of the late Michael and the late Pauline (nee: Murawski) Abramski.Richard was raised in Detroit and later served his country in the United States Coast Guard during World War II. Following his honorable and faithful service to the United States, Richard returned to the Detroit area and went to work for General Motors. Richard worked as a Tool and Die Maker and eventually retired as a supervisor for General Motors.When Richard was not working, he enjoyed spending time at his northern Michigan retreat fishing and snowmobiling. However, Richard was more of homebody who found great delight in simply staying at home tending to his yard and nurturing his beautiful garden. He also enjoyed woodworking and watching the Detroit Tigers play baseball.Richard is the beloved husband of Pauline, and the dear father of Cathy (Dennis) Jannetta, Paula (Steve) Watripont, and Richard (Jane) Abramski. He is the loving grandfather of Kimberly (Claudio) Capoccia, Sherry (Greg) Scofield, Dennis Jr. (Christa) Jannetta, Kristie (Jay) Dierig, Jeff (Heather) Aiuto, Amber Watripont, Dena Abramski, Richard Abramski, and great-grandfather of Austin Scofield, Sara & Sofia Capoccia, and Chase, Mason, and Lucca Aiuto. Mr. Abramski was predeceased by sister, Dorothy Priebe.Mr. Abramski will lie in state Wednesday from 10:00 am until time of the Funeral Mass at 11am at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Sterling Heights. Interment will take place Thursday, July 16th, with military honors, at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.Arrangements have been entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren.
