Richard James Sharon, age 81 of Grosse Pointe Woods, died Friday, December 4, 2015 at the Shore Pointe Nursing Center in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. Richard was born September 2, 1934 in Detroit, son of the late Albert and the late Virginia (nee Wehrung) Sharon.Richard was a proud graduate of the Detroit Business Institute where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Definitely a focused and intense career path, Richard found great reward in "crunching those numbers" over the years and helping to bring his own brand of organization to the work world,...at least where the figures were concerned. He ultimately retired from the Stroh's Brewing Company where he extended the utmost in dedicated and loyal service. When work wasn't calling, still, you'd often find Richard on the computer feeding his voracious appetite for all things computer related. Both for work and play, the computer afforded him countless hours of enjoyment each time he sat down to the keyboard. It was a pastime favorite of which he never grew bored. Another of Richard's favorite pastimes involved the sporting pleasures of baseball. He was an avid fan of the Great All-American Sport,...especially where his coveted Detroit Tigers were concerned. The "Boys of Summer" always seemed to fill that entertainment chasm with just the right amount of energy and competition. Many will also recall what a master Richard was when it came to all things trivia and history related. He possessed a strong sense of knowledge and memorization when it came to all those details and facts,...which not only made for great conversation, but aided in being quite sought after in gaming competition as well. But most of all, Richard's greatest source of joy were those special times spent in the company of his loving family,...and" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">...and his best friend & dog, Jackson. They say there's no connection like a "boy & his dog,"...and Richard & Jackson surely brought that truth to life. Richard leaves behind his beloved wife, Shirley, with whom he was blessed to share 60 wonderful and loving years. He is also survived by his three children; Richard Sharon, Robert (Angela) Sharon, and Debra (Bob) Mann. He was also the loving grandfather of Richard, Andrew, Stacy, Laura, Ryan and Lia. Visitation for Richard will be held on Monday, December 7th from 3 – 9 pm, with an 8 pm Funeral Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. Closing Prayers will take place at 9:30 am on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan. Please share memories of Richard at his memory book above.
