Richard Joseph Siecinski, age 68 of Utica, died Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at the Martha T. Berry Medical Care Facility in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. He was born April 12, 1952 in Detroit, son of the late Victor and the late Theresa (nee: Cackowski) Siecinski.
“ A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles” Christopher ReeveRichard was a great man who loved simple things such as bbq’ing, Pepsi, the Detroit Tigers, the Miami Dolphins and Spiderman. You could often find him listening to a game on his red radio- eating a couple of hotdogs, a bag of Better Made potato chips, and washing it down with an ice cold Pepsi.Even as a young man, Richard was a protector and a selfless man, caring deeply about others. As a young father he embodied those traits even deeper - always providing for his family and putting them first. As his children reached adulthood , he became a friend in addition to a provider. He worked hard his entire life and his goal was to retire,…not to travel the world or buy expensive things, but to relax on his patio , bbq, and have his family over. After being diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, and his goals changed. They became simpler and simpler as the years went on as things became harder and harder. Things were a struggle for him, some days worse than others, but he never let-on. Even in what was surely incredibly frustrating times, he still looked at things light-heartedly. He would still make jokes and say funny things to make others feel more at ease with his situation, not being concerned with his own struggles. From the heart & words of his son, Steven,…“The calm way in which he handled the struggles was awe inspiring. He was an incredible role modeland I hope to have half his strength one day.”
Richard was the loving father of April (Jason) Clos and Steven (Rachel) Siecinski. Former husband of Linda (Mark) Bigwood. Cherished grandfather of Caleb & Ethan Clos, and Dylan & Joey Siecinski. Dearest brother of Rose (James) Chandler and Victor (Lisa) Siecinski. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and sisters-in-law.
Richard will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home in Warren, Michigan.
