Rita was an extraordinary mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, wife, daughter, and friend.
To know Rita was to love her, and If you were lucky enough to know Rita, then you would have a funny story to share about how she made you laugh. She loved a good laugh and would often say “that’s a good one.” She was never at a loss for words, and you never had to wonder what she was thinking. She was so beautiful and so strong. It would be difficult to find a stronger woman than Rita.
She attended Lincoln High School, where she met the love of her life, Cecil St. Pierre. They were married for 67 years. Together they created a beautiful family made up of amazing children – Cecil, Jr., (Lisa) Kimberly (Leo), Rita (Edward), Donald, John (Mary Anne), Randall and Michaelene (Jason). Those children created amazing children: Cecil III, Alexandra, Melanie, Cristina, Leo, Chad, Brad, Amelia, Ryan, Brittany, Zachary, Jack, and Jake. Those Children created amazing children: Kinsley, Kadience, Langston, Jack, Parker, Camden, Kyleigh, Blake, Wesley, Hunter, Cole, Daisy, and Levy.
She dedicated her entire life caring for and worrying about all of those children that she created. She never stopped worrying about everyone.
At the end, God gave her children the opportunity to take care of her. Her children were given the blessing of being there for her as she had been there for them. God allowed them time to show her just how much she was loved. For the first time in her life, she was taken care of after years and years of taking care of others. Being a mother of seven children, she did not have a lot of peace in her life; however, her last days were very peaceful and full of love from her children.
We know she is in heaven sitting on a swing next to Cecil, the love of her life, and he is surely making her laugh, while they watch the world go by.
Please share a memory with the family in our online guestbook.
