

Robert Roy DeGrandchamp, age 78 of Warren formerly of Detroit, died Monday, August 29, 2005 at St. John Macomb Hospital Center in Warren. Mr. DeGrandchamp was born January 26, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan the son of the late Irvin DeGrandchamp and the late Theresa (nee: Young) DeGrandchamp. He served in the Army during World War II. After he returned home he went to work at Bundy Tubing before joining Michigan Consolidated Gas Company - "MichCon". Mr. DeGrandchamp retired from MichCon as an analyst with over 33 years. Mr. DeGrandchamp raised his family on the eastside of Detroit attending St. Raymond Catholic Church, where he was an usher for over 30 years. He then moved to Warren where he and his wife attended St. Sylvester Catholic Church before moving into St. Martin de Porres Church district. During his life he enjoyed bowling, playing cards especially euchre, and going to the casinos. He was an avid sports fan and a die-hard Tiger fan. Also he enjoyed working around the yard and in his garden, growing tomatoes and other vegetables, and always keeping his automobiles sparkling clean. After his daily work was done he enjoyed a cold beer and doting on his wife and family. He was truly a devoted family man. Survivors include his Beloved wife, Betty (nee: Edmunds) DeGrandchamp. His children; Gail (Glenn) Berlin, Robert E. (Carol), Bill (Barb), and Thomas DeGrandchamp. Cherished Papa of Michelle (John), Brian, Lisa, Cristina, John, Danielle, Kimberly, Cheryl, Lexie, and Hayley. Loving Great Papa of Anna. Visitation for Robert will be Wednesday from 5-9 pm and Thursday from 2-9 pm, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd. at Common, (12 mile). A Rosary service will also be held Thursday at 7 pm. Mr. DeGrandchamp will lie in state Friday 9:00 am at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, until time of Funeral Mass 9:30 am.
