Robert John Shaw

Robert John Shaw, age 81 of Rotunda West, Florida, died Tuesday, May 17, 2016. He was born April 20, 1935.Prior to his relocation to Florida, Robert was a longtime resident of Michigan. First enjoying many years as a Warren citizen, he then moved just slightly north to the growing community of Shelby Township where he made his new home. Robert was employed for many years with the Radio Distributing Company where he extended the utmost in loyal and dedicated service until accepting his well-deserved retirement. Yet this was not the only source of work output he enjoyed. The other had a more pleasurable spin as it revolved around his favorite sport,…Golfing. Robert was proud and honored to be a partner alongside his counterparts at the Cherry Creek Golf Club in Shelby Township. Also serving as the club's manager, he loved every aspect of his involvement there,…especially when it entailed picking up his clubs and heading for the tee. There were many things that brought him joy, and golfing was certainly near the top of the list.In his earlier years, Robert had a penchant for traveling and was blessed to have partook of many scenic wonders around the world. His travel portfolio was definitely a compilation fit for the likes of a George Pierrot show. But there was no mistaking one of his other favorite pastimes,…sipping a good glass of scotch. An elixir that seemed to soothe and permeate the soul, bending the elbow with a taste of scotch was right up there with his love for the game of golf. But neither the sunniest day on the links nor the richest glass of scotch could match his love and care for the loved ones in his life, his precious children and grandchildren. Their presence brought Robert joy beyond expression and gave him cause to be extremely proud. We always hope that we're leaving an impression on the ones we cherish the most,…and Robert certainly achieved that goal. He leaves a legacy of love unique to his character, and one to be embraced with each reflection shared. He will be missed immensely and loved eternally.Beloved husband of Tisha, and the late Marge Shaw. Dear father of Sandra (Dave) Orzel and Doug (Pam) Shaw. Proud grandfather of Doug, Zac, Birdie, Alayna, and Lexi. Private family services have taken place in Florida. Robert's Michigan Memorial & Remembrance has been entrusted to the D.S.
