Roger Allen Baut, age 72 of Farmington Hills, died Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Henry Ford Hospital in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan. He was born April 25, 1946 in Detroit, son of the late George and the late Bertha (nee: Kohler) Baut. With thanks and praise from a grateful nation, we pay homage to Roger for his service to our country during the Vietnam War. As an airman and medical service specialist in the U.S. Air Force, Roger served from April 1967 to April 1971 and ultimately attained the rank of Sargeant. For the sacrifices made and his willingness to stand in harm's way for the sake of freedom, we honor Roger's service and extend our posthumous gratitude for his wearing the uniform with pride. For those who truly knew Roger, they'll attest to what a spiritual person he was and how that guidance helped make him the caring person everyone knew him to be. From his early years, Roger sought to be enlightened and encouraged by something bigger than himself, and ultimately poured all that he had into learning, equipping and sharing the wealth of his knowledge. This took its form in a number of different ways, one of which was through his membership and association with the Freemasons. Being a part of the Mason's was both a pleasure and honor for Roger, and something of which he took to heart and wanted to make an impact. Therein, he worked his way within the organization and attained the heights that few achieve to include that of Super Excellent Master and a Past High Priest. His diligence, charitable heart and desire to be a guide to others as we walk this sod made Roger as very special and influential beacon of light. Another way that light shined bright was through the energy and touch he exuded as a Reiki Master. With Reiki being a form of alternative medicine that draws its healing power from universal sources, it simply makes sense that Reiki afforded Roger the perfect venue to help effect change and hope in the lives of many. Along with his gifts of helping others, Roger was instilled with gifts of his own,…one of which was an eye for photography. Focusing primarily on Nature, Roger snapped many award winners throughout the years and built quite a photographic portfolio that bolstered his creative eye. Another creative venue that he shared the wealth of his talents was in music. Roger was very involved in a unique form of mixing music and other sounds to create what is known as "mash ups." As much as he was often used in effecting healing processes for others, this was kind of his own way of sharing what lie inside of him. So whether he was giving to others or giving to himself, one of the main keys to Roger's life was "giving." He was always thinking of others first and gave without expecting anything in return. With a love that was both unselfish and unconditional, Roger touched a multitude of hearts and souls in his journey through life and leaves behind a legacy to be embraced with each reflection shared. Dearest friend of Jeanette Daitch, Ann Finn, Bill (Vicki) Finn, Julie Finn, Steven Finn, Samuel Finn, and his longtime & best friend, Jeffrey Ellis.Roger will be laid to rest at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, Michigan. Arrangements have been entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren. Please share memories of Roger at his guest book above.
