It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald David Chalou, who left us far too soon at the age of 51. Ronald, better known as Ronnie, was the cherished companion to Jenifer Bogues, the loving father of Cory Chalou & Chelsea (Zachary) Sanday, & doting grandpa of Rowen.
Ronald was the son of Cheryl and Larry (deceased) Chalou, and step-son of Cary Towne. He was the much-loved brother of Brian (Kimberly) Chalou and Danielle (Danial) Gorney. He was a proud uncle to Joshua, Gavin, Samantha, and Patrick, and great uncle to Charlotte. His warmth and affection extended to a wide network of aunts, uncles, and cousins who all held him dear. He is predeceased by his grandparents: Marilyn Weaver, William Engel, Beatrice Conrad and Roy Chalou.
Ron was a man of many talents, one being bowling. He was always at the bowling alley, sharing in lots of fun and long nights. He loved softball in his younger days, spending lots of weekends at tournaments. Karaoke was another one of his favorites, he loved to entertain and make people laugh, and found lifelong friendships in all three of his pastimes.
In his down time, he enjoyed watching football, especially the Miami Dolphins. American Idol was his favorite Sunday ritual, and he always loved a good Disney movie. Ron cherished his traditions, like spending time with his son at the movie theater, seeing whatever the latest movie was or enjoying seafood with his daughter, as they both loved crab legs.
Ron found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, from his cherished time in fishing & spending time with his family in Port Austin, to the laughter and camaraderie shared with friends and family. His incredible sense of humor and genuine kindness made him a beloved presence in the lives of everyone he met.
Ronnie’s legacy is one of joy, love, and a zest for life that touched the hearts of many. His laughter, love, and generous heart will be dearly missed but fondly remembered.
