Ronald Edward Dietrich, age 72, died Monday, November 12, 2018 after nearly a three month stay at the hospital in Mt. Clemens. He was born February 4, 1946 in Detroit. Ron would suffer the loss of his biological mother, Elsie at a young age and was adopted and raised by his grandparents, Ambrose and Lena Dietrich.Ronald answered the call of our country and entered the armed forces during the Vietnam War era. Electing our valiant U.S. Army, Ronald served with pride and honor in carrying out his duties and helping to make a difference in the lives of our brave allies-in-arms. For the sacrifices made and his willingness to stand in harm's way for the cause of freedom, we honor Ronalds' service and extend to him our posthumous gratitude for his brave and faithful heart. Ron would work in various jobs and several companies throughout his life. He was once a hotel manager, and also worked for General Motors, but he would always find his way back to sales. Ron was a born salesperson, selling everything from cars to any retail product you can imagine. Most of his later years of employment were spent working for KMart and Target.On May 17, 1997, Ron married Olga Koniecki at a small ceremony in St. Clair Shores. Together they would share over 21 years of marriage. Ron and Olga enjoyed traveling. They made several trips to Las Vegas to test their luck, and also enjoyed trips to South Carolina to visit family.As a young man in High School, Ron was a standout pitcher. His love for baseball would last throughout his entire life. He could also be seen showing off his athleticism on many of our local golf courses. Ron also enjoyed family fishing trips and playing a good game of Pinochle with his family and friends..Ronald was the loving husband of Olga; beloved father of Sarah (Scott) D'Hondt; dear brother of Violet Seizinger and Larry (Dorothy) Dietrich, the special grandfather of Gavin and Hannah D'Hondt. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by siblings: Eddie, Fred, and Anne. Visitation for Ron will be held Sunday, November 18th from 3 - 9 pm, with a 6:00 pm Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren.He will lie in state on Monday, November 19th from 9:00 am until the time of his Funeral Mass at 9:30 am at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 31555 Hoover Road in Warren. Following Mass, Ron will be laid to rest, with Military Honors, at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.Memorial donations may be made to the family.
