Born in Detroit to Jim Foster and the late Shirely Faye Cain, Ron stayed active from dirt biking, trips up North, or the day to day keeping up with his children and grandchildren. Though Ron wouldn’t consider welding his favorite thing in the world, he was immensely proud of the art and crafting his trade allowed him to do. What he did love about his trade is the life it allowed him to build. From his house, which he held great pride for, to his love for the great outdoors. But mainly what it allowed him to give back to his family. Ron believed nothing in life came without hard work and there was a natural creative spirit that he went to pass on to his children. Ron could always be found in his garage or yard.
Ron was a cherished husband, father, and papa. He and the grandkids would play all their favorite games like tag, the floor is lava or building forts in the living room that would leave all of them breathless in a fit of laughter. For his kids, Ron made it a priority to watch them go fight at their MMA fights and sporting events; they knew they could always find him at the sidelines cheering them on. To Ron the most important thing he could instill in them was a fighting spirit whether that was sports or doing what was right. In their free time, everyone would come over to Ron and Cindy’s house for the laughs or occasionally share a drink of Irish Whiskey, specifically Ron’s favorite, Jameson. Ron was a storyteller and collector of historical facts along with his collection of an assortment of guns and knives that he would talk about to anyone who would listen. Sometimes the kids would catch him dancing with his beloved wife Cindy and would tell them to join in, which would often lead to him trying to teach them some of his moves like The Carlton or The Hand Jive.
Ron loved his family more than anything and would do anything for anyone. He made it a priority to let his family know he was proud of them. If you asked them, Ron’s commitment to his family was the glue that kept them together. Ron will be missed dearly and his family and friends will still credit the good, but mostly the bad, times to him with a big snarky smile and a nasally “Thanks Ron.”
