Roslyn Anne Gacki, age 50, died Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Roslyn was born August 9, 1969 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of Roslyn (nee: Ternullo) and the late Edmund Bojakowski.
Roslyn was raised in Warren and graduated from Cousino High School, the graduating class of 1987. Following high school, Roslyn went on to study first at Macomb Community College, and later in business administration at Ferris State University where she ultimately graduated and received her Bachelor's Degree.
Roslyn met the love of her life within Bruce Gacki... the couple would eventually marry and settle in Warren to begin their lives together. Roslyn and Bruce raised two beautiful daughters and were very active with the girls upbringing and extracurricular activities. Roslyn was the consummate "Stay at Home" Mom...she cared tremendously for her two daughters. As a young girl Roslyn was an aspiring dancer, a trait she passed on to her daughter Natalie with her own dancing. Roslyn also loved sports and passed on her love of competition to her daughter Nicole. Over the years, she and her husband were the active and attentive parents to their daughter's schooling, dance, travel basketball and travel volleyball.
As Roslyn's life journey would take different paths from being a mother to developing breast cancer in her early 30's, to returning to college to study nursing so as to help others overcome cancer,...Roslyn ultimately graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in nursing from Madonna University and later found employment at Beaumont Hospital in Farmington Hills working as an oncology nurse. Roslyn was a caregiver down to her core. She always put others before herself and nursing was the perfect career for a woman with so much care and empathy for others. Roslyn was a 15 year cancer free survivor, and during those 15 years she helped and aided others only as a true caregiver could.
Roslyn's time away from work centered around her husband and girls. Her passion in life was her family along with taking many trips and vacations. The family cherished their many trips to Disney, along with visiting Punta Cana, Jamaica, and many other wonderful destinations. Staying local in Michigan, Roslyn, Bruce, and the girls enjoyed camping in the great outdoors and enjoying the wonders that Michigan had to offer. Roslyn had a beaming soul of light that will never be forgotten.
Roslyn was the loving wife of Bruce Gacki, and cherished mother of Natalie Gacki, and Nicole Gacki. She was the beloved daughter of Roslyn (Stan) Quarles, the late Edmund Bojakowski, and the daughter in-law of Alice Longo and the late Lawrene Gacki. She is also survived by many dear family members and friends.
Visitation for Roslyn will be held on Sunday, January 5th from 3-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren.
