Sharon was the beloved mother of William Lonskey (William Korsak) and Audra Emanuel (Josh Thomas), and the proud grandmother of Emily Lonskey, Rachel Yoder, Nicholas Yoder, and Logan Emanuel. She was also the cherished great-grandmother of Zayden and Aria. Sharon is also survived by her dear sisters, Shirley Gorski and Barbara Gorrell.
A lifelong learner and dedicated professional, Sharon earned her nursing degree from Wayne State University and completed her nursing training at Harper Hospital in Detroit. She began her career strengthening her skills in many areas of nursing including emergency medicine and cardiology before joining the newly opened Beaumont Hospital in Troy. Her commitment and initiative led her to earn a bachelor’s degree in business administration, which allowed her to advance into materials management and procurement leadership roles at Beaumont.
Outside of her professional life, Sharon found joy in travel and adventure. She explored the United States and Canada extensively and took memorable international trips to South Africa, Sicily, and throughout the Caribbean. She had a deep appreciation for nature and took great pride in maintaining her beautiful gardens and immaculate yard.
Sharon also dedicated much of her time to volunteering, particularly with Meals on Wheels, where she gave selflessly to her community. She will be remembered for her strength, ambition, and unwavering determination. Through her example, she taught her family the importance of resilience, integrity, compassion, and living life to the fullest.
Sharon’s legacy of love, perseverance, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at Ike’s Restaurant in Sterling Heights on Saturday, November 22nd, 2025, 1:00pm-4:30pm.
