Stella E. Milewski, July 17, 2023, age 97. Beloved wife of the late Alphonse. Dear mother of Karen (Ronald) Jazowski and Christopher (Carole) Milewski. Dear grandmother of Nathan (Tina), Emily (Patrick) and Julie (Eric). Dear great grandmother of Trentin, Quinn, Violet, Riley and Frankie. Dear sister of the late Bryan, the late Janet, Julie and Josephine.
Stella met her husband Al (a Navy Seabee) stationed near her home during World War 2. She had a huge awakening into American life when she came to Detroit from England at the age of 18. When they were first married they lived with Al’s mother who only spoke Polish and Stella had to pick up the language pretty fast. Not too long after a daughter (Karen) and a few years later a son (Christopher) were welcomed into the world. Stella really enjoyed the weekend trips to the cottage in Lexington. Packing up food, loading up the kids, the dog and having 2 days of fun each and every week. Not only did Stella pick up the Polish language but also how to cook in the Polish way. Stella enjoyed cooking for family get togethers and it bothered her a lot when she couldn’t do the task anymore. Mom wasn’t a person to lay down and watch television all day. She always wanted to keep busy. In the last few years’ time took a toll and it frustrated her to just sleep most of the day because of failing health. We were all blessed to have been around her to enjoy this lady, her stories, her sewing, her cooking, her raising her voice a few times and above all her faith in God. We know God is taking care of her right now. Stella is at peace. We all miss her. She is up in Heaven sitting next to her Al reminiscing and he’s demanding more coffee.
Visitation Thursday 2-8 PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr (at Masonic). Funeral service Friday 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment Cadillac Memorial Gardens East. Donations to Seasons Hospice Foundation appreciated.
