Susan Ann O'Brien

Susan was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, friend, cousin, wife, and mom. Susan was born in Detroit, grew up in Warren, and returned to the same Warren house for her adult life. Susan served as a compassionate nurse for 30 years and following her career of caring for others, she cared and served her family with all she had. During her retirement, Susan cared for her son and father, Michael and James. Susan enjoyed her friends and family above all else, with all of her time and energy dedicated to caring for her loved ones. Her cooking, humor, and laugh are unforgettable as well as her passion for loving those around her. Her selflessness shown though even during her hardest struggles, as she never stopped thinking of others even when she needed care for herself. Susan’s beautiful soul could be felt from the moment you met her and was ever-present. For this reason, Susan had so many wonderful friends and family. Susan’s loved ones are too many to count and simply a shining reflection of her. Above all else she was a loving daughter to her father James, beloved sister to Tina and Dennis, beautiful wife to husband Timothy, and ideal mom to Michael. Everyone in her life would not change a thing about Susan, as it is hard to imagine a more loving and caring person. Even though we gather to say goodbye to Susan, she will still live on with those that were lucky enough to know her, as she was truly an inspiration to us all. In loving memory of Susan Ann O’Brien.

Susan was the beloved wife of Timothy McKay. Loving mother of Michael (Alyssa) O'Brien. Dear sister of Tina Meyers and Dennis (Jane) Meyers. Cherished aunt of Eric Cleve, Lauren (James) Michael, Thomas (Lauren) Meyers, Jacqueline Meyers and great aunt to Sicilia, John, Charles, and Daniel. Adored Fur Mom of Zoey the cat.

A Visitation for Susan will be held Wednesday, February 16th from 3-9pm with a 7pm Prayer Service at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road, Warren, MI 48093. She will lie in state on Thursday from 11am until the time of her her Funeral Service at 12pm at the Woodside Bible Church, 27300 Hoover Rd, Warren, MI 48093. Interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Detroit.
