

Sylvester Joseph Brezenski age 87 died Thursday March 14, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Sylvester was born August 12, 1925 in Duryea Pennsylvania the son of the late Steve Brezenski and the late Edna (nee: Popis) Brezenski.Sylvester was raised in Pennsylvania and later served his country during World War II in the United States Army where he achieved the rank of Corporal. Following his military service Sylvester returned to Pennsylvania but he eventually moved to Michigan with family members to work in the automotive business.Sylvester worked for many years for Artco in Fraser managing the tool crib before going to work for J.B. Rath Tool & Die in Sterling Heights where he would work for over 15 years managing the company's tool crib before retiring.When Sylvester was not working his family always came first in his life… whether he was home tending to his meticulous lawn or attending one of his grandchildren's sporting or school events, it was always family first. Next came his love of Country, of which he was so proud. Sylvester was active in the VFW Post 7170 until it closed. When able Sylvester loved to bowl on his weekly leagues and also play cards. He and his dear wife Jean also enjoyed traveling to several states when their children were young and also returning to visit family back in Pennsylvania.Mr. Brezenski was the beloved husband of Jean, and dear father of Elaine Weider, and Mark (Janice) Brezenski. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many loving family members. Visitation for Mr. Brezenski will be Friday from 3-9pm with an Evening Rosary 7pm, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd. at Common (12 1/2 Mile). Mr. Brezenski will lie in state Saturday 9:30am at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 8200 Rolyat in Detroit, until the time of the Funeral Liturgy 10am.
