

Thomas Henry Evans, age 98 of Eastpointe, died January 26, 2021 at Ascension St. John Hospital in Warren, Michigan. He was born December 29, 1922 in Birmingham, England to his parents, the late William and Mary (nee: Holder) Evans.
Thomas joined his family when they moved from Birmingham, England to Detroit, Michigan when he was just six months old. After attending Southeastern High School in Detroit, he joined the United States Army. Thomas honorably served our country and fought in both World War II and the Korean War. Following his time in the military, Thomas worked as an elevator mechanic and inspector.
Thomas was married to the love of his life, Dessie, for 67 years. Together, they had 4 wonderful children, and eventually 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He loved spending time with his family as much as he could, and especially enjoyed embarking on family cruises. In his leisure time, he liked going to the casino,...and was sure to dress his best for any occasion. The memories with Thomas will be cherished forever. He will be missed immensely and loved eternally by his friends and family.
Thomas was the beloved husband of the late Dessie. Loving father of Denise (John) Laga, Thomas (Katie), Michael (Judy), and Dwayne (Lisa) Evans. Cherished grandfather of John, Noelle (Mike), Kayle (Brian), Karle (Chuck), Francesca (Ian Gonzales), Alisha (Patrick), and Thomas. Adored great-grandfather of Knight, Annalisa, Kelsey, Chase, Ren, Reed, Saylor, and Morgan. He was predeceased by his siblings, William Evans, Rose East, and Jessie Schroder.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held for Thomas.
