Verlon G. Benefield, age 95 of Warren, died Friday, January 4, 2013 at Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit.He was born on April 30, 1917 in Shiloh, Alabama, son of the late Marvin W. and the late Lillie Mae (nee: Davis) Benefield.Beloved husband of the late Mary. Dear father of Harold (Janet) Benefield and Jim (Alice) Benefield. Loving grandfather of Christine (Tim) Gunter, Steve (Karen) Benefield, Scott Benefield, Leslie Twigg, Julie Benefield, and Angela (Andy) Houghton. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, Julia, Rachel, Jeffrey, Faith, Fallon, J.T., Avery, and Lyla. Brother of J.W. (Margie) Benefield. Visitation for Verlon will be held on Wednesday, January 9th from 3:00pm to 9:00pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. His Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 on Thursday at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Pastor Darius Walden of the Tabernacle Church of God in Warren. Interment will follow at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.Memorial donations are welcomed to the Tabernacle Church of God, 14205 E. 12 Mile Rd., Warren, MI 48088.
