Vickie Lynn Trottier, age 56 of Sterling Heights, and formerly of Center Line, died December 25, 2019 in the comforts of her home. She was born February 9, 1963 in Detroit, daughter of Elizabeth “Betty Jean” (nee: LaFrance) Clark, and the late Mark James Clark, Sr.
Known more affectionately to her precious grandchildren as “Nana,” Vickie had another title bestowed upon her by just about everybody else on the planet,…“Mom.” To be true, Vickie was blessed with six beautiful cherubs of her own, but she was one of those rare breeds that brought a unique and special warmth and care with her wherever she went,…and she simply ended up being Everybody’s Mom along the way. We all had one of those on the street where we grew up, and Vickie was the one that had her neighborhood covered, without question. She never positioned it or prompted it, she merely made a genuine connection with the hearts of all in whom she shared this unique experience called “life.”
A remarkable homemaker and Mom, Vickie poured the best of herself into nurturing those entrusted to her care. She managed the various chores and responsibilities of maintaining a home, and did her utmost in seeing that her family’s needs were always met. Yet in wisdom and the importance of seeking to achieve a balance to it all, Vickie had a couple of favorite “outlets” that provided just the right mix of fun and camaraderie,…the games of poker & bingo. Whether she was part of a smaller crowd sitting around the card table slingin’ cards,…or immersed in a larger setting, monitoring her card and awaiting that familiar call of the numbers & letters,…either way, Vickie was in seventh heaven each time she got to enjoy the company of friends and the gamesmanship of friendly competition that accompanied both games.
Yet of all that harkened joy and happiness for Vickie, little could hold a candle to the elation she felt with each moment spent in the company of family and friends just hangin’ out at the house. Just like Dorothy opined in the Wizard of Oz,…”there’s no place like home.” So too was the comfort she enjoyed being surrounded by her loved ones at home.
A loving wife, Mom and Grandma, Vickie poured the best of herself into all she did, especially towards her family and their well being. Family meant the world to her, and they were definitely the light of her life. Most notably to her cherished grandchildren, moments spent with Grandma were always magical. Vickie leaves a storehouse of precious memories to be embraced with each reflection shared by those who were blessed to know her and be loved by her. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally.
Vickie was the beloved wife of the late William. Dearest mother of William Jr. (Paula) Trottier, Mark Trottier, Michael Trottier, Erica (Mark) Sovljanski, Beth Trottier, and Samantha Trottier. Loving grandmother of Madison, William III, Ethan, Isabella, Maxton, and Michael Jr. Sister of Mark Clark Jr., and Kimberly Clark. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Vickie will be held Saturday, January 4th from 3-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd.) in Warren. Her Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
