Viola Belle Marcy

Viola Belle Marcy age 87 died June 22, 2014 at Harbor Chase Assisted Living of Sterling Heights Michigan. Mrs. Marcy was a longtime resident of Center Line Michigan before moving to Sterling Heights.Viola was born February 12, 1927 in Arcola Illinois the daughter of the late William Hoback and the late Hazel (nee: Roedl) Hoback. Viola was raised in Illinois and later moved to Michigan during World War II in search of employment within the many defense manufacturers. She later met and married the love of her life Stephen Marcy in 1956... the two were happily married for over 51 years.Viola and Stephen lived in Center Line for many years and raised their only son Greg in the community. It was in Center Line that Viola worked at Weyerhaeuserbox and packaging Company and later worked at Miller Elementary in the Cafeteria as a "Lunch Mom".When Viola was not working she enjoyed spending time with friends, traveling with her husband, and tending to her roses and tomatoes in her outdoor garden. Quiet time at home was spent knitting and doting on her son Greg. She also loved her beloved Dachshund Mickey.Mrs. Marcy was the cherished wife of the late Stephen, and dearest mother of Greg Marcy. She was the dear sister of the late Jimmy Hoback, John Hoback, Betty Wilson, Margaret Shaffner, and Fred Hoback. She is also survived by many loving relatives and friends.Visitation for Viola will be Thursday June 26th from 10am until the time of the evening Funeral Service 6pm, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 mile). Memorial donations are appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org.
