Virginia M. Masters, 79, a resident of Warren for 47 years, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006, in St. John Macomb Hospital, Warren. She was born in 1927 in Arkansas. Mrs. Masters, formerly of Detroit, was a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church in Warren, where she was active and served as a Sunday school teacher for a short time. She enjoyed playing cards with neighbors and friends, visiting casinos, dinning out at restaurants, sewing and spending as much time as possible with her family. Mrs. Masters is survived be her husband of 50 years, Jesse; daughter, Terry Denise Stevens; granddaughter, Heather Rasmussen; great-grandson, Jaiden Rasmussen; siblings, Eugene (Carol) Woodall, Wanda (Jim) Atchley, Carolyn Burns, Fay (Rick) Reed, Gail (Dennis) Gibson, Nancy (Larry) Cooper, Cathy DeMeyer, and Linda (Carl) Etue; and goddaughter, Emily Etue. Her family said she also will be missed by her dog, Marty. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Christ Lutheran Church, Warren. Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-9 p.m. Sunday at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road (at Common), Warren.
