Virginia Dorothy Mizak

Virginia Dorothy Mizak, age 84, died Monday, November 11, 2013 at her home in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. Virginia was born February 16, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late Walter J. Warchol and the late Anna Mary (nee: Knapp) Warchol.Virginia was raised in Detroit and graduated from Eastern High School. Following her schooling, Virginia worked various jobs at the administrative level. However, later in life, her true calling was to become a "stay at home" mom. Her children fondly remember a mother devoted to her family.Mrs. Mizak enjoyed cooking for her family and preparing for the many holiday celebrations. In addition to her joy of being a mother, Mrs. Mizak spent time doing word searches, reading, and crafting. She and her husband favored their time traveling and pampering their many dogs over the years. A smile could easily be quickened to Virginia's face just by placing a baby in her arms. She cherished all the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.Mrs. Mizak was the beloved wife of Michael, and is the dear mother of Cathy (Todd) Burton, Michael Mizak, Mark (Joanne) Mizak, Carol Mizak, and Christine (Joseph) Lovins. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brian (Sandy) Angell, Keely (Tobin) Dunn, Todd Angell, Darcie Burton, Kelsey Burton, Emily Burton, Amie Lovins, Anna Lovins, Andrew Lovins, Adam Lovins, Mary Mizak, Andrew Mizak, Michael (Michele) Mizak, and Paul Mizak. Further survivors are her great grandchildren, Todd, Lillie, Gannon, Ava, Michael, Gabriel, Cameron, and her sister in-law, Rita Warchol.Mrs. Mizak will lie In State on Saturday, Nov. 16th from 9:30am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 22412 Overlake in St. Clair Shores. Celebrating the Funeral Liturgy will be Rev. Father Hoang Lam. Memorial donations are appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association.
