Walter was a devoted husband to his late wife, Roberta, with whom he shared 41 years of love and companionship, and later, to Margaret, his beloved wife of over 30 years. His life was a testament to his commitment to family, kindness, and his unwavering sense of duty. He was a proud father to Mark (Mary), Pamela (the late Frank), and Dawn (the late Paul), and a cherished grandfather to five, as well as a great-grandfather to several.
A true American hero, Walter served with distinction as a Korean War Veteran. His pride in his service was matched only by the love he showed his family and his community.
Beyond his military service, Walter was known for his remarkable skills as a tinkerer and a craftsman. He had a natural talent for fixing, building, and creating, whether it was a piece of furniture, a cherished family heirloom, or a complex mechanical project. But his love for his family’s home and his yard were legendary. With a green thumb and an eye for perfection, Walter could often be found in his garden, nurturing plants, tending to his flowers, and cultivating a yard that was the envy of the neighborhood.
Walter leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a wealth of memories that will continue to inspire those who knew him. His quick wit, his generous spirit, and his dedication to family and friends will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of sharing time with him.
