After graduating in 1955 from Denby High School in Detroit, Bill was drafted into the Army to serve during the Vietnam Era. With Thanks and Praise from a Grateful Nation we thank him for his service to our Country. After his discharge in 1963 from Fort Bragg, North Carolina he made his way home to Detroit, Michigan to soon meet the love of his life, Catherine.
It was a beautiful summer day in June of 1966, where the two love birds said "I do" before all of their friends and family at St. Phillip's Church in Detroit, Michigan. After the wedding the two resided in Detroit for a few years before building their house in Clinton Township. Bill's work then transferred him and the family decided to move to Clarkston. This didn't last long since another transfer was in the works and the family once again relocated to St. Clair Shores where they could ultimately call home. The two were an unstoppable duo, they conquered so many things by doing everything together. They enjoyed traveling together to West Branch where they had a cottage that they could sit & relax and watch their children just be kids.
When Bill wasn't working you could find him and Catherine out socializing. They frequented many restaurants in the St. Clair Shores area where many of the waitresses and waiters knew them by name. He at times felt like a celebrity because so many people knew him. Bill was a kind hearted soul that he would go out of his way to thank a service member at a restaurant and occasionally pick up the tab.
Bill's family meant the most to him. He enjoyed getting together whatever the occasion. From graduations, weddings, baptisms, birthdays, you could always count on him to be there with Catherine by his side. He brought a smile to everyone's face by his contagious smile or by making a joke about something. He loved to sit back and watch the grandchildren and great grandchildren play. You could see the love for these little ones by the way his eyes lit up. His contagious smile and kind heart will be missed at the next family get together, but the stories of Bill will live on in their hearts forever.
He was the beloved husband of Catherine. Dear father of Sharon Roberts (Bob Buczko), Kathleen (Robert) Morford, William Jr. (Jane) Bell, and the late Karen Bell. Devoted grandfather of Breanna (Derick) Karolak, Brittany Morford, Justyn Misiak, Logan Misiak, Marissa Morford, and Liliana Jane Bell. Loving great grandfather of Ava Rose Cheatham, and Riley Nicole Karolak.
Visitation for William will be held on Thursday 3-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren.
He will lie in state Friday 10am until the time on the Funeral Mass at 10:30am at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in St. Clair Shores. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township with Military Honors following the Mass.
