He is the son of the late A. Paul and Luise (Iasiello) Samson. He graduated from Warren High School and attended the Rhode Island Trade Institute for auto body. He worked at an auto body shop and then he got into truck driving with Fernandes Trucking. He then started working for D’Ambra Construction where he worked until he retired.
He was a proud member of Teamsters Local 251. His love of auto body, car painting and painting in general became a passion of his. In his spare time, he operated Samson Sign Company where he created signs for local businesses, and lettering their vehicles. He also painted and pinstriped many vehicles and motorcycles, one of which made it into a Lowrider magazine for its unique paint job. He also had a passion for music, mainly he enjoyed playing the drums, however he could pick up almost any instrument and play it with ease. He played in several local bands over the years playing various types of music. He also would DJ/MC some local events. When not working, painting or playing the drums he could be found by the water fishing with a cup of coffee. Arthur was also someone who would go out of his way to help anyone in need.
