Born in Fall River, the son of Shirley Mae (Fuller) Gagne of Warren and the late Edward J. Gagne, Jr., he was a longtime resident of Covington, OH.
A graduate of Warren High School, Class of 1982 he attended the Sawyer School and obtained his CDL license from New England Tractor Trailer School. A hard worker, he began working alongside his father at their family business “Ed’s Saw & Mower” for a few years before beginning a 37-year career on the road driving tractor-trailers.
Above and beyond traveling the open road, he enjoyed his adventures with his sister to Ireland, Mexico, Tahiti, Alaska and the Caribbean. Ed delighted in being out on the water, relaxing on a beach and a day spent in Newport. A fan of all kinds of music, he appreciated the drum and bugle corps, especially the Boston Crusaders, whom he drove the equipment truck for 10 summer seasons. He was a huge fan of car racing, especially Formula 1 racing. As much as he enjoyed digging into a hearty meal, he took great pleasure in serving up an impromptu cookout for his friends and family. Generous with his heart, he was always there to help another, even if it left him without.
In addition to his mother, Shirley, he is survived by one sister, Donna Gagne of Riverside; his many cousins, particularly from the Cirillo and Fuller families, and many close friends, especially Andrew Jones and John Marsh.
His Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at 12:00 PM with visiting hours prior from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM in the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, 615 Main Street, Warren.
