A graduate of Warren High School, Howard was an avid basketball player, who then proudly served his country in the Marine Corps, and became a life-long US military historian. He worked as a Senior Quality Control Inspector for the United Printing Company in Warwick for over 40 years.
Howard’s greatest passion was raising his family, whom he loved with all his heart, and delighted in taking them on hikes to Devil’s Rock and on countless adventures. He was health conscious and enjoyed walking every day, when he was able, from one end of his hometown to the other and back again and cooking his favorite Italian family recipes from scratch. Howard liked reading his military books and magazines and was a devoted N.E. Patriots and Red Sox fan.
Howard is survived by his children Nancy A. Cambrola of Punta Gorda, FL, Stephen A. Cambrola of Sebring, FL, and Peter N. Cambrola and his wife, Kathleen M. of Warren. Six grandchildren Sally, Kelly, Jessica, Alexander, Marissa, and Elijah; and three great-grandchildren, Logan, Aria, and Stella; and several beloved nieces and nephews. Howard was the brother of Norma Wetherell, Joseph V. Cembrola, Michael A. Cambrola, Anthony L. Cambrola, and Henry R. Cembrola.
His memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, 615 Main Street, Warren followed by burial in South Burial Ground, Warren. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, prior to the service.
