John A. Fiorillo, age 93, of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, passed away Friday, March 29, 2024, at his residence. He was the husband of Maria (Caia) Fiorillo to whom he had been married for 26 years and the husband of the late Theresa (Russo) Fiorillo.
Born in Worcester, a son of the late Arthur and Mary (DeNardo) Fiorillo, he lived in Medford, Massachusetts, for many years prior to retiring to Portsmouth.
A veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War, he was a self-employed plumber before retiring in 1991. He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks and was a New England Patriots fan. Along with reading the newspaper, John enjoyed watching Judge Judy, Blue Bloods, and westerns.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, John A. Fiorillo, Jr., and his wife Debbie of Methuen, MA; his daughter, Cheryl Fiorillo of Brooklyn, NY; a brother, Anthony Fiorillo of Mansfield, MA; his sisters: Anna Simpson (deceased), Lillian McCaughan of Georgia, Eleanor Creamer of Braintree, MA, Barbara Dow of Weymouth, MA, Lucille McFawn of Weymouth, MA, and Marina Frazier of Pennsylvania; four grandchildren: Maranda Fiorillo-Guzman, Jeremiah “JJ” Fiorillo, Jared Stasiowski, and Tara Stasiowski; three great-grandchildren: Ava Stasiowski, Caleb Stasiowski, and Malhani Guzman; his stepchildren: Liz McNeill of Chelmsford, MA, Bernadette Logan of Canton, MA, Rita Foster of Connecticut, and Rocco Zecca (deceased); six step-grandchildren: Allison, Sara, Brendan, Ryan, Kayla, and Dominic; and many nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 10:30 AM in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be private, immediate family only.
