de Graff, Marjorie S. (86) of Barrington, Rhode Island passed away on Monday, June 3, 2013 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence. She was the wife of the late Arthur de Graff. Born in Huntsville, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Dama (Rodgers) Souther. She moved to Barrington to be close to the family of her cousin, C. Scott Free after living in New York City with her husband for over 50 years. She loved nature and admired the beauty of Rhode Island.
Marjorie Souther de Graff was a graduate of New Jersey College for Women at Rutgers University where she majored in zoology and botany. She worked in the field of nuclear medicine at Middlesex Hospital in New Jersey and King’s County Hospital in Brooklyn, NY.
She was the sister of the late Robert H. Souther and is survived by Phyllis Souther Barry (niece), Robert Souther (nephew), Charles Scott Free, Kathleen Free, Janet Riddick Thompson, Todd Riddick, Stephanie Atherton, Sherry Riddick (cousins).
A memorial service is being planned for later this year at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden in New York where she volunteered for many years
