Merolla, Philomena D. (Conti), 92, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2014. She was the wife of the late Carmine J. Merolla. Born in Hyde Park, MA, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Maria (Stabile) Conti.
Mrs. Merolla worked at Coats and Clark for 20 years and then at Traffari for 20 years before retiring in 1992. She was a member of Harborview Senior Citizens Association, was an avid bowler and loved to play Bingo.
She is survived by her daughter Joanne Lawrence and her husband Bob of Warren; sister, Dolly Simmons; brothers, Alexander, John and Angelo Conti; and grandchildren, Rob and his wife Miriam, Evan, Kaira, Adam and Addyson. She was the mother of the late Sandra Merolla, and sister of the late Margaret Despirito, Josephine Iervelino, Susan Mead and Carmine, Guitano and Albert Conti.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14th at 9 – 10:00 AM with a Funeral Service at 10 AM in the WILBUR-ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 615 Main St., Warren. Burial in St. Alexander’s Cemetery, Vernon St., Warren. www.wilbur-romano.com
