

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, Richard was the son of the late Lincoln and Margaret “Peg” (Magee) Staveley.
Richard proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. He built a successful career in sales, working in the heating oil business, for the former United Camera, and notably becoming the first salesman in Rhode Island to sell Apple computers. He enjoyed photography and cherished time spent with his family and friends.
In addition to Lorraine, he is survived by his son, Richard S. “Rick” Staveley, Jr., and his wife, Frances, of Wellington, Florida; his stepson, Charlie Capizano of Bristol; his granddaughter, Jenica Pothier of Warren; and his great-grandchildren, Brynn, Eliana, Olivia, and Theodore “Teddy.” He is also survived by his brother, William “Billy” Staveley, along with many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Sally Kettelle, Nancy Winslow, David Staveley and Paul Staveley.
His funeral will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 10:30 AM at the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, 615 Main Street, Warren followed by burial in North Burial Ground, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held Saturday from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM, prior to the service.
