Sandra J. (Remington) Travers, “Sandi”, age 70, of Bristol, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Saint Elizabeth Manor after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was the wife of the late Albert J. Travers.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Holden and Barbara (August) Remington. A graduate of Barrington High School, she attended Michigan State University and Roger Williams University.
Sandi worked as a Clerk for the Town of Bristol for many years. She was an avid bird watcher, and cook. She loved to be outdoors and work in her garden. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting.
She is survived by one son, Matthew Travers and his wife Kathryn of Westwood, MA; one step daughter, Tracy Coppola of East Greenwich, RI; four sisters, Barbara Shea, Linda Remington, Helen Lanoue, Kathryn Lyons; two brothers, Peter Remington, Paul Remington; six grandchildren C.J., Chad and Cody Coppola, Madisyn, Kendyl and Ainsley Travers and many nieces and nephews.
Her Visitation will be held on Friday, August 23, 2019 from 8:30 to 9:30 AM in the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, 615 Main St., Warren followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State St., Bristol, RI.
