Dalessio, William R., 83, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 18, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Josephine (DeAngelis) Dalessio. Born in Barrington, he was a son of the late Joseph and Maria (Acciardo) Dalessio.
He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War earning the Korean, United Nations and National Defense Service Medals. Mr. Dalessio was a self-employed mason contractor for many years. He was an avid golfer and gardener and enjoyed spending time at the beach and cooking.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, William Dalessio, Ph.D. of Providence; daughter, Cheryl Abowitt and her husband Bruce of Barrington; sister, Clara DeSpirito; brothers, Frank and Romeo Dalessio and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joseph Dalessio and Flora Nacci.
His funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 23rd at 9 AM from WILBUR-ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 615 Main St., Warren with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Mary of the Bay Parish, 645 Main St. Burial in Maria del Campo Cemetery, Barrington.
