On Saturday, September 10, 2022, Cyrille Dunn Straus passed away at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, MD after a long battle with Multiple Myeloma. Devoted mother of Lauren Straus Heller and mother-in-law to Shane Heller of Bethesda, MD; grandmother to Cameron and aunt to many loved nieces and nephews. Cyrille is survived by her mother Joan Dunn Williams, brother Patrick, and sisters Faith, Cece, Nancy, and Erin. Her father Albert Dunn and brother Kevin predeceased her.
Cyrille graduated from Georgetown University with a bachelors in nursing. Over her long career in healthcare, she worked at the Georgetown University Hospital ICU, was a private nurse for two patients with ALS, and was a Clinical Research Trials Coordinator at Kaiser Permanente. Upon retirement, she enjoyed traveling with family and friends and spending time at her second home in Bethany Beach, DE.
A viewing will be held at Gawler’s Funeral Home on Friday, September 16, 2022 from 5-7p. A funeral service will be held at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Rockville, MD on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 1230p.
