On Friday, March 31, 2017, ELAINE ELIAS LAMBRAKOPOULOS of Chevy Chase, MD. She was born in Vasta, Arkadias Greece on February 28, 1933. Beloved wife of the late Elias Stavros Lambrakopoulos; devoted mother of Evanthia and Stavroula Lambrakopoulos both of Chevy Chase, MD; sister of Efstathios (Eftihia) Metropoulos, Sotirios (Aggeliki) Metropoulos, Ioannis Metropoulos, Georgia Panagopoulos and Vasiliki Panagopoulos all of Greece. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins in Greece and the United States. Preceded in death by her beloved son, Panayotis Stavros; her parents, Polytimi and Nikolaos Metropoulos; her brother, Panayotis Metropoulos and her sister, Demetra Galanis. Relatives and friends are invited to call at JOSEPH GAWLERS SONS, LLC., 5130 Wisconsin Ave., NW, Washington, DC on Tuesday, April 4 from 7 to 9 p.m. with Trisagion prayers at 7:30 p.m. Services will be held at Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 36th St. & Massachusetts Ave., NW on Wednesday, April 5 at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD.
