To the Ahern family, I thank you for the opportunity given to me to share with your mother, the gift of life by taking care for her for almost ten years.
May God comfort you in your time of need.

To All My Ahern Cousins:  I am so terribly sorry about the death of your beloved mother.  You all took such good care of her and I know the empty feeling that one has when their mother leaves this world.  All of the O'Sheas share in the sorry of your loss because we know how difficult the past few years have been.  As the eldest O'Shea, I had the privilege of attending  your parents wedding and still have the memory of this beautiful woman with the lyrical voice and her tall handsome husband.  I am so sorry that I was not able to attend the mass and service for Sugar but know that I along with my siblings are thinking of your family.  With much love, Maire O'Shea Rosol

To my cousins in the Ahern family and all their children, 
      I wish I could have joined you today for the funeral of your beloved mother and grandmother.  To me, Sugar was the precious younger sister of  my mother, Genevieve. "Sugar" called my mom "Bicky."  They had a loving and enduring friendship all their lives.  The first time I saw the Sugar was at my baptism at age 3 months because Tex became my godfather then.  
    It is rare to see a person so beautiful and then hear a lvoice so lovely at the same time.  Sugar had studied voice seriously and  loved singing. We all got to enjoy that!  She had a kind and gentle way of expressing herself and a natural elegance that I admired. Thank you all for the joy you shared with her and for all these years of such tender care.
      I will never forget her.

Dear Ahern Family: We offer our deepest condolences. Sometime shortly after the end of WWII, an  elegant couple, your mother and father, known to us O'Sheas as Sugar and Tex visited us in Montclair, NJ. Tex was still proudly wearing his officers uniform and Sugar epitomized graciousness.Years later at their 50th anniversary, they looked just as elegant. My wife Jan and I had the great pleasure of having dinner with them at their home, hosted by Kathy. Growing up, I only wish that we had lived closer. God bless your mother; she meant a great deal to all of us and God bless each of you.

Elinor Convery, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family during this difficult time.  You have had a difficult task lifted off of your shoulders.  Be assured that your mother is smiling down at you and appreciates all that you have done over the last few years.  Remember the good times and they will bring a smile to your face.  May God bless you for caring for your mother with the help of your family.  I know exactly what you went through as I went through the same with my dear mother who was also born in 1918, but left us in 2012.  Remember you did the best you could and now your parents are reunited watching over you.

Sugar (as our mother Genevieve called her sister) was gentle and elegant and much admired by her nieces and nephews in the O'Shea family. It is really touching to see her lovely face again, as we knew her. As a child when she visited us, she came into our bedroom and sang to us. She epitomized loveliness.  We rejoice that she is now with the Lord and shares eternal life with her husband, parents and siblings.  With love and deep respect, her niece Kathleen
