I was johns personal assistant for about  6 years.. He was my buddy  and my boss but most of all  he was  my  friend........we had a lot of fun .see you on the other side my old friend  ..john.....ps. loveya joanie

We were so saddened to learn of John's death.  He was a wonderful human being.  He was a gift to everyone and everything he came in contact with. His warmth, kindness and compassion was a model to all.  The last time we saw John was at the Juliana Airport in St. Martin.  He was late of course.  This time he was making arrangements with a local island family to care and feed a stray dog he befriended.  We speak of this incident often and of the fun times we had with Joanie and John.  We will all miss him.

It was with great sadness that I heard of John's sudden passing. I first met John in the 70's when he started to collect Figural Match Safes.  At that time no computers just Polaroid pictures.  He started out as a customer but quickly became a friend.  Always a gentleman with a kind and generous spirit.  Joanie was so welcoming to all the members of IMSA.

Dear Joanie, Nick and JP,  So sorry to hear about John. I have fond memories of spending time with him. He was extremely kind to me. Allowed me to experience adventures in life that no one else could have done. He often comes up in conversations that includes lots of laughs and good stories. I for one had missed him at the beach all these years. My mom always asked me if I had heard from John, she had a lot of stories to share as well. It was a pleasure to have been part of his life. John and I would spent hours reminiscing about our childhood adventures at the beach in Neeld Estate.  As we grew older our friendship grew stronger and the adventures never ended.  Just being with John was an adventure.   He was bigger than life and he will be greatly missed.

John was a terrific friend and mentor. He was one of the most generous and trustworthy persons I've ever known. Life will never be the same without John in it. He will be sorely missed.

Johnny was my best friend, my HS room-mate, and constant pal. We fell out of friendship in our 30's, but I have always thought of him and the Boys. A good guy who had great instincts.I will miss his absence on this earth.

John made such a big impression in my life.  He was a mentor that I learned so much from as well as a friend that I could always count on.  The only thing that was bigger than John's personality was his heart.  We had a running joke at the conventions and John would always ask me to save him a good seat.  John, I will miss you so much. John was like a big brother to me. He taught me many great lessons in life. He always had a way to put a smile on my face. I will miss him dearly !

John was larger than life and always made everyone feel welcome in his presence. He was an amazing grandfather to my niece and nephew. Joanie, I'm so sorry for your loss. He will be missed by so many.
