
Passed away peacefully on February 17, 2017 at her home in Bethesda, MD at the age of 93. Born in Springfield, IL, she grew up in Washington, DC and spent her early career on the Senate staff on Capitol Hill. In 1948 she married John Bernard Reilly of Norfolk, VA at St. Matthew's Cathedral. The couple moved to New York City where her husband began a career in International Marketing that moved the family all over the world. Following her husband's retirement in 1986 they moved back to the Washington area and lived in Potomac, MD for 25 years. Marion was a generous spirit, wonderful friend and hostess, who embraced life and adventures in Latin America and Europe. She is survived by her loving children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, including son, Sean Reilly and wife Susan Turner; daughters, Elizabeth Reilly, Susan Reilly and husband Frank Haltiwanger and Lynn Capoccia and husband Matthew. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Sam and William Haltiwanger, Sara Capoccia Snead and husband Michael Snead, and Allison and Dylan Reilly; plus, niece, Patricia Reilly and her daughters, Katherine, Bridget and Margaret Morrison; niece, Mary Eileen Reilly and husband Harry Bartnick; nephews, Thomas, Brian and Charles Reilly, Robert Sutton and wife Debi, Glenn Sutton and wife Jan. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, J. Bernard Reilly in 2011. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 12 Noon at the Congressional Country Club. A service followed by interment at Arlington National Cemetery will take place at a later date. Contributions can be made to JSSA Hospice of Montgomery County.
