Fifth generation Washingtonian died September 5, 2015. She was the widow of Henry T. Allen III. Mrs. Allen was educated at Potomac School, National Cathedral School for Girls and Mt. Vernon Seminary. She was a former officer and Board Member of the Junior League of Washington, the Sulgrave Club, Children's Hospital's Board of Ladies Visitors. She was the founder of the Evergreen Garden Club. Mrs. Allen also competed in many figure skating events and performed in local ice shows.
Mrs. Allen was a member of the Chevy Chase Club, the Colonial Dames of America and the Metropolitan Club. She is survived by Karen Hauser (Richard) and Marny McCain, both of Bethesda, MD, Brooke Allen of Washington, DC and Terry Allen of Fremont, CA; and five grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on September 25, 11 a.m. at St. David's Church, Macomb St. N.W., Washington, DC. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. David's Church or JSSA Hospice/Montgomery County.
