It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Patricia Angela Tornillo, affectionately known as Trish, who left this world peacefully at her home in Houston, Texas, on April 19, 2026. Born on June 19, 1957, in Washington, D.C., Trish graced this world with her vibrant spirit for 68 meaningful years.
Trish was the cherished daughter of John and Dee Tornillo, who preceded her in death. Her parents instilled in her the values of kindness, warmth, and a profound sense of empathy—qualities she carried throughout her life. Trish was the beloved sister of John, Vincent, and Mark, and a devoted aunt to Angela Tornillo, Marco Tornillo, Sextus Tornillo, Siena Tornillo, and Toscana Tornillo, all of whom survive her and will forever hold her memory close.
Trish was a proud alumna of the University of South Florida and a graduate of the South Texas College of Law, embarking on a career marked by dedication, integrity, and a deep commitment to justice. Her professional journey reflected her sharp intellect and unwavering resolve, but it was her extraordinary ability to make everyone she met feel welcome and valued that truly defined her legacy. Trish’s empathetic nature and boundless generosity touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Trish was a beacon of light and love to her family and friends. Her laughter was infectious, her spirit unyielding. She possessed a remarkable ability to listen deeply, offering comfort and wisdom to those who sought her counsel. Her home was a sanctuary—filled with warmth, love, laughter, and the joyful chaos of family gatherings.
The family invites all who wish to honor Trish’s life to join them for a Vigil Service on Tuesday, April 28, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at DeVol Funeral Home Chapel, 2222 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20007. The Rite of Committal will be held the following day at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20906, at 10:00 a.m. These gatherings will be an opportunity to celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who meant so much to so many.
As we say goodbye to our beloved Trish, let us remember her not in the sorrow of her passing, but in the beauty of her journey. She will remain forever in our hearts—a guiding star, watching over us with love. Rest in peace, dear Trish. Your spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved you.
