

Passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2014 after a long illness. Mr. Larroca was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1930, the son of Elsa Morales and Raymond Gil Larroca. He moved to New York City in the 1930s and came to the DC area prior to World War II. He attended The Bullis School and Staunton Military Academy for high school and was a graduate of Georgetown University College (1952) and Georgetown Law School (1957). He enlisted in 1948 and served honorably overseas during the Korean War as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army. After serving in the Army, Mr. Larroca went on to become a Partner at the law firm of Kirkland and Ellis. In 1967, he joined Herbert J. Miller and John J. Cassidy to form Miller, Cassidy, Larroca & Lewin, a premier boutique litigation law firm. He had a distinguished career representing clients in criminal and regulatory investigations regarding charges here and abroad. He pioneered the defense of multinational parallel criminal investigations. Mr. Larroca represented many notable clients, including former-President Richard Nixon and the Senate of the Commonwealth Puerto Rico. He joined the law firm of Baker, Botts as a Partner in 2000. He married Barbara Strand in 1952 and is survived by five children, Denise Sheehan (John), Gail, Raymond (Meleah), Mark, and Jeffrey (Shannon) - seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Family welcomes guests to attend a memorial service for Mr. Larroca on Saturday, November 8 at JOSEPH GAWLER'S SONS, L.L.C., 5130 Wisconsin Ave. at Harrison St., NW, Washington, DC 20016 at 4 p.m. A reception will follow the service. An inurnment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation .
