

Roger was born on September 21, 1947, in Paso Robles, California, to Willie and Zelma Story. He was raised alongside his siblings David, Johnny, and Christine.
Roger is survived by his beloved wife, Lin Story; his daughter, Shari Gaeta and husband Gabriel Gaeta; and his grandchildren, Noah, Zachary, and Jacob Gaeta. He was preceded in heaven by his son, Mark Story.
For 56 years, Roger faithfully served as a pastor and minister of the gospel. His life was marked by a deep commitment to God and a genuine love for people.
Roger and Lin began their ministry together in Inglewood, California. They later planted Mission Hills Christian Center in Laguna Hills, where they invested in building a thriving church and school community.
In 1989, they followed a calling to Washington, DC, where they served as missionaries for 37 years. During that time, Roger ministered to a wide range of individuals, including presidents, members of Congress, ambassadors, and leaders from around the world.
He was known for his humility, consistency, and personal care for everyone he met. Regardless of status or position, Roger treated each person with dignity and compassion.
Roger’s legacy is one of steady faith, lifelong service, and lasting impact. His influence lives on through his family and the many lives he touched through decades of ministry.
A memorial service will be held in Washington, DC on April 15. Additional services are being planned in June at The Bridge Church and in Paso Robles, California.
Roger will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
