

Sam was born March 8, 1931, to Lawrence & Grace Pellerito in Detroit, Michigan. After Sam graduated from St. Martin High School in 1950, he served in the Army where he met his future wife’s brother. Upon leaving the Army he married his wife of 66 years Annette Schiattareggia on April 24, 1955, and they settled in her hometown of Washington, DC.
Sam and Annette’s brothers then founded the first full-service car wash in the DC area. They went on to open numerous other car wash locations. In 1987 he founded Touchless Car Wash with his daughter Tonimaria. Sam remained involved with the car wash industry until his passing. He was working at Touchless Car Wash, the place he loved the most, up until the day he died.
Sam and Annette have 2 children, Larry Pellerito & Tonimaria Ayers.
Sam is survived by Annette, Larry (Marie), Tonimaria (Rob); 4 grandchildren Maria & Jamie Ayers and Quinn & Sam Pellerito; and siblings Jim, Joanne, Gerry, Annette & Larry.
A viewing will be held at Little Flower Catholic Church in Bethesda on April 12th at 11am, followed by Mass at noon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The American Legion Veterans Strengthening America fund. Sam was involved with the American Legion his entire adult life.
