

Mrs. Migdail, a long-time resident of Chevy Chase and Bethesda, was born in Bronx NY and was a 1945 graduate of Hunter College. She received her Masters in Education from American University in 1970 and Doctorate in Education from American University in 1975. In the 1950s, she taught at Bethesda Elementary School, and in the 1960s, while living in Mexico City, Mexico, Mrs. Migdail was one of the first teachers at the original Lomas High School and remained close to many of her students until her death.
Upon her family’s return to the United States, Mrs. Migdail served as assistant head of the Beauvior School in Washington DC; an educational consultant for the bilingual education program in Montgomery County Public Schools; and consulted with Comsis Corporation prior to her retirement.
Mrs. Migdail served as a board member and an emeritus board member for International Student House, Washington, DC, where she received the organization’s Lifetime Service Award in 2013. She also volunteered as a reader for Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic of Metropolitan Washington. While living at Fox Hill Residences in Bethesda, Mrs. Migdail co-founded the Fox Hill Radio Players, a troupe of seniors who recreated vintage radio plays.
Her husband of 70 years, Carl Migdail, passed away in 2013. She is survived by three children: Laurel Albea of Katy TX, Evan Migdail of Washington DC, and Karen Migdail of Bethesda; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
